Natalie Arnette, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. She received her Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University and her Ph.D. from Auburn University’s doctoral program in clinical psychology. Upon moving to Atlanta, Dr. Arnette completed an internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University, where she honed skills for working with internalizing (e.g. depression, anxiety) and externalizing (e.g. ADHD, conduct disorder) disorders across the lifespan. Her primary approach to therapy utilizes behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques to address struggles faced by clients at different stages of development. Her treatment approach also incorporates attention to family dynamics and emphasizes the value of interpersonal relationships. Dr. Arnette takes a collaborative approach to therapy, working with each client or family to develop a treatment plan that addresses primary symptoms as well as the effects those symptoms can have on daily living, social interactions, and emotional well-being. She also has extensive experience in conducting psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations with school-aged children, adolescents, and adults, and considers this an important part of her clinical work. With regard to research interests, Dr. Arnette has studied the effectiveness of parent training interventions, explored predictors of suicidality in delinquent adolescent girls, and investigated factors that impact treatment outcome among women with a history of abuse. Dr. Arnette joined the Virtually Better team in 2005.
